4. You've analysed the results, pinpointed key findings and set out an action plan. Following this, review the process and the action taken. Did the methodology work? Are there are any other areas that would benefit from further research? Did you act on the results correctly? If you're testing a concept, you may need to run a further round of research on your updates.
The results are in but what do you do now? Follow us this week for a step by step guide. 👀
Overall, an employee community has the ability to make employees feel that they are valued and respected; that employers are genuinely listening to them; and, ultimately, that they are integral to the success of the company. With a third party (Tribes Research ) running the community, employees can have anonymity, enabling them the freedom to be completely honest - a benefit to both the employer and the employee. Employee communities help to foster a motivated, driven and loyal workforce… what’s not to love!
News, press releases, survey feedback, employee announcements… just some of the ways a company can communicate with their employees through an employee community. Make sure employees are among the first to know and that they are always kept in the picture. This aspect of the community can also be great fun… sharing photos etc. to help build the sense of community and belonging within the company.
Encourage employees to generate and share ideas. Employees may be sitting at their desks bursting with amazing ideas… if you don’t ask, you don’t get! Similarly, an employee community gives employers the opportunity to share and gain feedback on concepts and ideas for the business going forward. Involve employees in the ideas/concept phase – value their opinion and reap the rewards!
How many times have you worked in a job and thought to yourself “this process should be so much easier” / “I wish we could do this another way but I don’t want to rock the boat”? As businesses grow, processes become more complex and it’s easy to lose sight of the importance of streamlining tasks. An employee community provides the opportunity to ask employees how they feel about specific processes… how could it be improved?
When employers actively listen to their employees and communicate on a regular basis it benefits the wider company on so many levels. An online employee community provides the perfect platform to run quick polls, surveys and/or discussion topics enabling businesses to easily engage and gain valuable feedback whenever they like. No one can deny that people work better when they are engaged and motivated… and this is just one of the benefits!
This week, we’re sharing the amazing benefits of online employee communities. Keep watching 😀👀
From those who like to drink gin, 47% prefers the citrus based ones! Second place, with 43%, is for the sweet gins.⠀ ⠀ What kind of gin do you prefer? ⠀ ⠀ Interesting: 21% does not have a clue what kind of gin they like⠀ ⠀ #instainsights #marketresearch #ginsurvey #mobileapp #mobileresearch #mobilemarketing #Instadaily
5. Listen to what people have to say. If the results are telling you that something needs to change or that people aren't sure about the concept you're presenting, be sure to act on it. It may mean that you need to tweak your idea and re-test it, or consider something completely new, but failure to listen to the results can be extremely costly.
4. There are a few exceptions to this rule but, on the whole, you should always make sure that respondents have a way of identifying if they don't know the answer or if it is not applicable. Similarly, 'none of these' should also be an option when you're presenting a "which of these....?" type question. If you fail to do this, your results will be inaccurate and any actions you take as a result of your findings could be in vain.
3. "How much do you LIKE this branding?" or "How would you rate this branding?" It's understandable that you may prefer respondents to answer positively when you have worked tirelessly on a project. However, encouraging respondents to give the answer you want is obviously flawed. To be sure you're getting valuable and constructive feedback, take time to think about how you're asking your questions.
2. You're all set to launch your research campaign… survey scripted and sample at the ready! Before you hit the 'send' button, be sure to test, test and test again. Test everything from the email invite, screening questions, the routing, the grammar, question functionality through to the landing pages. And be sure to test it across devices. Get colleagues to test it... you may be surprised what a pair of fresh eyes can spot.

1. So, you've got an amazing idea for a new business or you're thinking of a new product concept? It's more than likely that you're going to speak to your friends, family and colleagues about this idea before anyone else. Which is fine! But, you cannot rely solely on their opinions. Be sure to test your idea on the general public, your target audience and/or your current customer base for an unbiased response.
There are five pretty common mistakes people make when it comes to research. We’ll be taking you through all five this week to save you from making the same mistakes...
5. Scripting a survey, testing, sampling, through to launch can be performed in a matter of hours rather than days/weeks (obviously depending on the survey content/feasibility ). Not only that, the quality, accuracy and speed of the results are all far improved given the evolution of online research.
4. Research can be performed quite literally on-the-fly. The benefits to a restaurant in gaining feedback on a customers’ experience the moment they leave the restaurant or a media company in receiving real-time feedback on a live programme can be invaluable. What's more, these research experiences can go a long way to making participants feel valued and build brand loyalty.
3. Rather than feeling interrupted by interviewers with clipboards and phone calls during dinner, people are now actively seeking market research opportunities where they can participate in their own time. They like to have their say on products and services, particularly with brands that they use. Feeling part of a brand community is appealing. The incentives are also more enticing, and quick!
2. From sharing images, videos, interactive survey questions through to online communities and focus groups, market research has become an increasingly interactive industry online. Harnessing and developing this interactivity results in significant improvements in participation and engagement which, in turn, makes for more successful results, ROI and brand loyalty.
1. Gone are the days of printing thousands of multi-page surveys, mailing them out and nervously anticipating the first sign of responses in the post. Online research has led to a huge reduction in paper-based research. This online revolution is obviously more environmentally friendly. It has also made it far easier to conduct research all around the world. And the benefits don't stop there!
Market Research has gone through a digital revolution over the last 10 years. This week, we'll be sharing 5 ways that it has changed... for the better! 👍

Using dummy brands/trick options within a survey can be a good way of identifying if a respondent is cheating, or indeed if they are paying attention and providing quality feedback. Again, each case should be reviewed.
If a respondent has straight-lined - answering a series of rating questions with the same answer, the remainder of their responses should be reviewed along with the length of interview to ascertain whether they should be removed from the data.
Open ends should be reviewed to ensure quality feedback has been provided. Where feedback doesn't make sense or is non-existent, respondents should be reviewed and removed where necessary.
When the final data is in, review how long it has taken each respondent to complete the survey. Any outliers to the average length of interview (LOI ) should be reviewed and removed where necessary.
Survey cheating is no surprise really when people are being incentivised with cash and/or prizes etc. However, there are some very effective methods to identify cheaters. Successfully removing them from the final data is an imperative step to ensure the highest quality results.

5 TIPS TO MAXIMISE YOUR ONLINE DESIGN AND ENGAGEMENT 5. Images can bring a survey to life. They can keep your respondents engaged and ultimately increase the number of completed interviews. However, if you don't take the size of the image/video into consideration and the time they take to load, you could have the opposite impact on your results. It is well worth taking the time to reformat images to ensure they load quickly. People are drawn to content that is visual and fast. And be sure to test the survey across devices.
5 TIPS TO MAXIMISE YOUR ONLINE DESIGN AND ENGAGEMENT 4. Respondents need to feel engaged and this begins with the survey template. A simple template is fine but it is worth taking time to consider the colours / logos / images etc incorporated into the template. The intro page needs to be welcoming, clear, informative and attractive. All question types should be considered to maximise engagement throughout the survey. Consider the use of images, videos and alternative question types to give your survey an engagement and visual boost.
5 TIPS TO MAXIMISE YOUR ONLINE DESIGN AND ENGAGEMENT 3. As long as the questions are clear, easy to answer and engaging, more than one question to a page is OK. However, you do need to take the question type into consideration here. Multiple essay questions may be better placed on separate pages - respondents will most likely switch off if they are presented with numerous essay questions in one go. Be sure to get people to test the survey and ask for their feedback on the question frequency per page.
5 TIPS TO MAXIMISE YOUR ONLINE DESIGN AND ENGAGEMENT 2. There are three main reasons you will lose people when you present them with long lists and large grids… 1 ) people simply don't have time to read/understand what you're asking them to do; 2 ) if people are on a mobile/tablet, it's likely that there will be a large amount of scrolling involved (another turn-off! ), and 3 ) we are becoming increasingly driven by visual content - presenting a question in this way can result in a large number of drop outs simply because it is not engaging.
5 TIPS TO MAXIMISE YOUR ONLINE DESIGN AND ENGAGEMENT 1. You simply can't afford to ignore the mobile revolution. With more and more people searching/browsing/purchasing on their mobile phones, it is imperative that your online content is mobile compatible. This is particularly important when you are incorporating alternative question types and images/videos. Not only that, be sure to test the compatibility across mobile devices... what works for one, may not work for another!

5 WAYS TO INCENTIVISE MARKET RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS 5. This works well for long term engagement, i.e. online communities. Members of communities love to feel that their opinion is valued and that you are listening to them. Providing feedback on surveys/polls that they have participated in is a great way to build loyalty and encourage them to participate further. This can also be effective with B2B research, giving participants an early look or exclusive access to results. #incentives #results
5 WAYS TO INCENTIVISE MARKET RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS 4. It really is a case of understanding what would work for your particular target audience. A charitable donation could be an extremely effective way of encouraging someone to participate in a project if you know they are drawn to a particular cause. #incentives #charity
5 WAYS TO INCENTIVISE MARKET RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS 3. Points mean prizes! Many online communities use points as a way of incentivizing their members to engage within the community, whether that’s responding to a survey, poll, discussion topic etc. Points can then be exchanged for cash or prize draw entries. #incentives
5 WAYS TO INCENTIVISE MARKET RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS 2. In order to offer an effective prize draw, you really need to understand your target market and what prize(s ) would incentivize them to act on the survey invite. All prize draws need to be accompanied with comprehensive terms & conditions with winners published publicly. You should also be aware of the MRS guidelines on prize draws. For example, winners should not have to pay extra to use the prize. Money off vouchers for a holiday would be a no-no! #incentives #prizedraw
5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR ONLINE COMMUNITY ENGAGED 5. Creating a community that is engaged, social and where members feel like their opinion is valued, provides businesses with a truly unique opportunity to connect regularly with their customers, gaining customer insights and building brand loyalty. 5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR ONLINE COMMUNITY ENGAGED 4. The nature of the community obviously provides an excellent insight into who the members are. However, understanding what the members want to see by way of feedback or conversing with members is imperative to ensure they remain engaged. (This goes back to adding value! ) Make sure you are listening. #mrx #onlinecommunity
5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR ONLINE COMMUNITY ENGAGED 3. Don't be a stranger! Members like to know that someone is there if they have a question or they want to comment on something. It is imperative to respond to members as quickly as possible. Engage in conversation with members. Communities, like social media, are meant to be just that 'Social'! #mrx #besocial
5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR ONLINE COMMUNITY ENGAGED 2. Let's be honest… would you sign up to something if it offered you 'nothing' in return? Value doesn't have to be monetary. It could be knowledge, entertainment or even companionship. If you don't add value to your community, members will lose interest. #addvalue #mrx
5 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR ONLINE COMMUNITY ENGAGED 1. Being consistent goes hand in hand with maintaining engagement. There is so much content out there these days that you can't afford to lose your audience's attention. People just won't stick around. A Communication Plan is essential to staying on track. #mrx #communication

5 THINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE EMBARKING UPON MARKET RESEARCH... 4. Firstly, do you have a budget? Are you looking to conduct this research yourself or outsource it? 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO CONSIDER BEFORE EMBARKING UPON MARKET RESEARCH... 2.
